Mandatory processes of PeopleSoft Application server

PeopleSoft application server is having below mentioned mandatory processes. These processes are required by application server to function it properly. These processes are started automatically when we boot the application server.

Mandatory Processes:
1. BBL: it is a primary tuxedo process that controls the domain. BBL is started whenever we start application server. It receives the tuxedo messages from jrep server and sends it to appropriate PeopleSoft process.
-Unless BBL is loaded and nothing on the application server domain will work
-BBL directs all communications traffic.
-BBL controls listeners, handlers, queues, and PeopleSoft processes.

2. PSWATCHSRV: Watch server process combines process details from the OS and TUXEDO and executes the rule set on the resulting data. If a process is known to the OS and not known by Tuxedo, then it kills it. If a process has been handling a service request for longer than service timeout, then it kills that process.

3. PSAPPSRV: It performs functional requests i.e. it loads and builds components. It also provides memory and disk caching feature for PeopleTool objects on the application server.

4. PSSAMSRV: SQL Access Manager. It handles conversational SQL that is associated with application designer.

5. MONITORSRV: It reports host/ domain resource information to Performance Monitor (PSPPMSRV). It supports cancelling a PS query and resolves master/slave failover for application messaging system.

6. JREPSRV: It converts JOLT messages into Tuxedo messages and passes them to BBL.
